CEI: "The European Confederation of Real Estate Agents”
CEI is an organization of more than 66.000 real estate agents and real
estate consultants in Europe and represents their interests on the
European level. CEI has allowed the real estate market in Europe to
become more close-knit. Our multi-language real estate database since
the beginning of 2000 has helped drive this process. We understand our
association to be an organization that provides more transparency in
the European
real estate market. Moreover CEI encourages the cooperation in European matters.
Conference Remarks
The C.E.I.
Conference in Dublin Castle, was a big success.
Participants from 14 countries have discussed the latest trends for real estate agents in
Europe.
The financial crisis and the impacts on the real estate industry in Europe
were the focus of the conference.
Michael Finneran,
Minister of housing in Ireland, opened the conference and
addressed the participants displaying the point of view of the Irish
government.
The credit crunch, which has laid over all markets in Europe, has to be
solved. The Irish government is focussing on guaranteeing deposits, then
recapitalising banks and finally putting toxic papers into a new Assets
Management Agency, soon to be established.
Prof. Kinsella from the Smurfit School in Dublin focused on the real estate
industry which is the epicentre of the financial crisis.
In a
second item the conference dealt with the energy efficiency certificate and
the transformation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive into
national law together with the role of real estate agents.
Finally the latest development of IP-TV in the real estate business has
been discussed.
